Rose Quartz is relatively durable, but it can still scratch or be scratched by harder stones. Keep it in a soft pouch or fabric-lined box, ideally separate from other crystals.
Crystal Formation
Rose Quartz is a part of the trigonal crystal system. It forms in a rock type called pegmatites and crystallizes at high temperatures (up to 700C). Some Rose Quartz display "stars," also known as "asterism", the same phenomenon that makes star sapphires and rubies.
