Carnelian
Carnelian is a reddish-orange stone that has been used in jewelry and art since Antiquity. It is one of the oldest gemstones used by humans.
Prized for millennia in Crete, Central Asia, and the Far East, carnelian has inspired thousands of beliefs and legends throughout history. The Roman orator Cicero is said to have worn Carnelian to help him speak clearly and persuasively. Ancient people believed it strengthened the voice and was ideal for public speakers or leaders.
With its warm nuances, carnelian also denotes joy, happiness and abundance.
Known as the “Setting Sun” by ancient Egyptians, Carnelian symbolized the radiant cycle of life, death, and rebirth.

Carnelian Meditation
Take a deep breath and set an intention to attract good fortunes. Believe in the abundant nature of the universe. Visualize a rush of amber light moving through you, igniting confidence and drawing in abundance, as you slip into your New Dream Slacks with a Carnelian stone at the waist.

Stone Care Information
Carnelian is a relatively resistant stone that is easy to care for.
In order to protect your carnelian, we recommend that you keep it away from any chemical or abrasive product, and therefore that you avoid direct contact with perfumes, lotions, and hand sanitizers.
Carnelian can be naturally banded, which is due to its microcrystalline composition. If water infiltrates it, the banding may become more visible. We therefore recommend that you avoid wearing your piece in a hot, humid setting (especially shower, spa or hammam).

Stone Geological Formation
Geologically, Carnelian is a variety of chalcedony, which is a cryptocrystalline form of silica (SiO₂)—meaning it's made up of tiny quartz crystals too small to see with the naked eye. Its signature reddish-orange to deep red color comes from iron oxide impurities within the silica.
