A Slow Flow Under the Stars at Parkwood Estate

Honouring cosmic wisdom with Lapis Lazuli under the starry summer sky.

Last month, we gathered under the soft glow of twilight at the historic Parkwood Estate for an evening of intention, movement, and connection. The setting—lush gardens, winding paths, and a touch of old-world grandeur—provided the perfect backdrop for a truly special experience.

A wonderland for the imagination, Parkwood Estate has been meticulously preserved to ensure it never loses the lustre of its original look. Built in 1917, Parkwood was originally built by Samuel McLaughlin, a Canadian entrepreneur and business man who founded General Motors Canada

Amongst Canada’s most exceptional estates, Parkwood Estate is the preferred scene for filmmakers from all over the world. Some well-known movies include Billy Madison, X-Men, and Amelia. It is now a Canadian National Historic Site.

KAMINSKA's Founder, Brigette, grew up in a neighbourhood nearby the Estate and went to high school across the street at O'Neill Collegiate and Vocational Institute. As a teenager, she always wondered what hid behind the historic Parkwood gates.

💎 What We Did

Our evening was lovingly hosted by the radiant Taylor of Taylor'd 2 Nature. A local Yogi, Reiki Healer, and Meditation Facilitator whose presence set the tone for a beautifully guided experience.

We began in the Sunken Garden, gathering in a soft circle of yoga mats. Each guest was gifted a New Dream Sports Bra, offered to enhance both comfort and intention during our practice. From there, we embarked on a gentle walking meditation through the lush, historic Parkwood grounds—a moving ritual meant to quiet the mind, connect us with the surrounding nature, and return us to center.

Back in our circle, a plate of Lapis Lazuli stone attachments was passed hand to hand. Each woman intuitively selected the stone that spoke to her. Some chose to fasten it to their New Dream Sports Bra, while others held it gently—placing it wherever felt most aligned for their practice.

We flowed through a slow, grounding yoga practice, starting close to the earth and gradually rising into more dynamic movement. Throughout, we were reminded to stay inward—anchoring into the wisdom of our hearts and our inner intuition under the night sky.

As the sun set, we moved into a restorative laying meditation, cradled by the open evening sky. In this stillness, we were invited to journey inward—connecting with imagination, intuition, and the deep dreamscape of the subconscious.

We visualized our thoughts as a night sky, gently searching for the light of the stars. Just as Lapis Lazuli holds golden flecks within its deep blue surface, we were encouraged to notice the shimmering moments of clarity and insight within our own minds—guided by the rhythm of breath, free of judgment, open to wonder.

Why was Lapis Lazuli Chosen as the Theme?

Lapis Lazuli is known for its deep indigo-blue with gold flecks of pyrite, resembling a starry midnight sky. Holding it during meditation beneath the stars creates a visual and energetic mirroring between stone and sky, self and cosmos.

Rich in ancient history and prized by the Egyptians, who believed that the lapis lazuli stone contained the night sky. They used melted and natural lapis stones in jewelry, amulets, and sacred art to connect with the divine.

Associated with the third eye and throat chakra, heightening intuition, insight, and dreamlike awareness—perfect for meditations that invite you to look inward, reflect, and receive.
