A Guided Ocean Meditation (2024) - Inspired by the Pacific Ocean off the Coast of Tofino, British Columbia

Tofino is a small, remote coastal village on the west coast of Vancouver Island in Canada. Know for its beaches, surfing and local artistry, it's situated on a narrow peninsula that is surrounded by the Pacific Ocean. Tofino is magical backdrop and inspiration of the following guided ocean meditation. 

Guided meditation: Sitting at the shores of the pacific ocean

You find yourself seated on a quiet stretch of sand, surrounded by the lush, ancient rainforests of Vancouver Island. Towering cedar and spruce trees line the horizon, their earthy scent mixing with the crisp, salty ocean breeze. Overhead, the skies are vast and open. The waves of the pacific ocean are rolling in with a mesmerizing rhythm.

As you settle in, allow yourself to soak in the atmosphere. The soft sand beneath you, the sound of gulls circling above, and the feeling of connection to something greater—a landscape untouched, alive, and endlessly inspiring. Let your body settle into the surface beneath you. Feel supported, safe, and at ease. Allow this breeze to sweep away any tension in your body. You are as free as the ocean waves. The natural environment that surrounds you invites your presence, there is nothing but this moment. Lift your arms overhead and touch your palms together, pointing towards the sky.

Imagine a wave of soft, salty ocean mist rushing in to fill you up. Feel your belly and ribcage fill with the wave on each inhale. And as you exhale, notice how your chest and belly gently fall. As the air rushes out, imagine the breeze pulling back from the shore in sync with the calm ocean waves. Continue this visualization as you continue to breathe. Let the air fill every corner of your body, bringing a sense of calm and renewal charged by the pacific ocean.

Take a moment of gratitude for this time and space, for the calm and connection you've nurtured. Repeat this for at least 5 minutes.
